Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's daughter Aaliyah Kashyap got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Shane Gregoire in May this year and she announced the news via a proposal video on her Instagram. The couple exchanged rings during their trip to Bali when Shane went down on his knees with the ring and since then Aaliyah has been facing criticism and hate for getting engaged at the age of 22. And most recently, Aaliyah and Shane answered some frequently asked questions about them and their engagement. Reacting to their video, one troll claimed that Gregoire is living off Aaliyah’s father’s money. 

The star kid came out in support of her boyfriend and gave the troll a befitting reply! One of the netizens commented on their post, “What does he do for a living? So basically, he lives off your dad’s money Nice.” To this, Aaliyah said, “He (Shane) has run his own company since he was 15. He’s been completely financially independent since he was 17. Neither of us take money from our parents. For the unversed, Shane Gregoire is a US-based entrepreneur and has a company called ‘Rocket Powered Sound’, which he’s been running since 15. It’s been seven or eight years since he is involved in the business. 

Meanwhile, the couple is planning to get married in 2025 and will host two engagement parties in August this year- one in the US, and another in India. Talking about her marriage plans, Aaliyah in her recent vlog on YouTube stated, “1.5 or 2 years at least. Spring summer 2025, is what we are thinking. Because we want to enjoy this time being engaged.”
