First meeting: In an interview with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Abhishek revealed, "I first met her when I was a production boy. There was a film my father was making called Mrityudata, and I had gone for the location recce to Switzerland, because the company felt that because I had grown up in Switzerland in boarding school that I would be able to take them to nice locations." He further added that his childhood friend, actor Bobby Deol was shooting for his first film - Aur Pyar Ho Gaya in Switzerland at that time.
Abhishek continued, "He got to know I was there and said, 'Hey, why don't you come over for dinner?' And that's the first time, when they were shooting, when I met Aishwarya." Proposal: Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya on a hotel balcony in New York after the premiere of Guru.
Age gap: In case you don't know, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is older than Abhishek Bachchan by three years. Well, when it comes to love, age is just a number.
The ring: For the uninitiated, the ring Abhishek used to propose to Aishwarya was reportedly a prop from the sets of the film Guru.
The wedding: After working together in several films and forming a great bond of friendship which later turned into love, Abhishek and Aishwarya got married on the 20th of April, 2007.
Aishwarya's wedding look: On the special day, Aishwarya wore a beautiful golden Kanjeevaram saree with real gold thread work. It reportedly costs a whopping Rs 75 lakhs. On the other hand, Abhishek had opted for a white sherwani.
Honeymoon: The couple went for a month-long honeymoon to Europe soon after their wedding. Later, Aishwarya had revealed that it was when a flight attendant addressed her as 'Mrs. Bachchan' that she realized that she's married to Abhishek.
Baby girl: On November 16, 2022, Aishwarya and Abhishek welcomed a baby girl. They named their daughter Aaradhya. The couple often shares pictures with her on their social media.
