Actor Jagdeep Passes Away: Soorma Bhopali Had Once Said 'Aao Haste Haste Aur Jao Haste Haste' - WATCH THROWBACK VIDEO
Veteran actor Jagdeep passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai. He was 81 years old. In his long acting career, he has been a part of over 400 films. Some of his most popular roles include Soorma Bhopali in the film Sholay, and his catchphrase in the film, “mera naam Soorma Bhopali aise hi nahin hai,” is remembered by fans till date. He also played the role of Salman Khan’s father in the 1994 film Andaz Apna Apna. His death has left a big void in the film industry and several members of the film fraternity such as Ajay Devgn, Hansal Mehta, Johny Lever and others took to their social media to mourn his demise.

While he was popularly known as Jagdeep, his real name was Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri, and he is Jaaved Jaaferi and Naved Jafri’s father. Jaaved Jaaferi had once shared a video of his father Jagdeep on the veteran actor’s birthday, in which he could be seen interacting with fans, thanking them for their wishes. The video is from 2018, and Jaaved Jaaferi had written, “As my respected father #Jagdeep, is not on social media he sends a message to thank all the loving fans who wished him on his birthday today.”

In the video, actor Jagdeep can be seen saying thanks to all of his fans who wished him on Facebook or Twitter.  He said he saw them all and is grateful for the lovely wishes. Towards the end of the video, he can be seen saying, "Aao haste haste aur jaao haste haste." He then said his famous Soorma Bhopali catchphrase, ending the video. He was full of life, and will forever be remembered by everyone in the country for his contribution to the Indian cinema.


His last rites will reportedly take place at 11 am tomorrow at Mazgaon Mustafa Bazaar burial ground in Mumbai.
