Makers of Adipurush have reportedly decided to remove Saif Ali Khan's beard digitally after severe criticism poured in for his look as Ravana
Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer upcoming mythological drama ‘Adipurush’ is one of the most highly-awaited films of 2023 for obvious reasons. Om Raut’s directorial has been making headlines for both good and bad reasons ever since the teaser of the film was released. Saif Ali Khan, who plays Ravana/Lankesh, in the film, received severe criticism over his first look showing him sporting a beard and a buzz cut. Now as per the latest report, the makers have now decided to remove Saif’s beard digitally from ‘Adipurush’.
Yes, you read that right! As reported by ETimes TV, the makers have decided to shave off Saif's beard using VFX. The report added that a lot of work needs to be done on Saif's look. Earlier, it was reported that the makers have decided to rework VFX and on Saif’s look in the film and it will be revised. Besides this, the makers will also be correcting the episodes of Vaanarasena as some reports alleged that the scenes and shots are copied from Hollywood films like Aquaman and Game of Thrones. Owing to these changes, Om Raut has postponed the release of ‘Adipurush’ and announced the new release date via a statement on his social media handles. His note read, “Adipurush is not a film, but a representation of our devotions to Prabhu Shri Ram and commitment towards our sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. Adipurush will now release on June 16th, 2023. We are committed to make a film that India will be proud of. Your support, love and blessings is what keeps us going. - Om Raut.”
Also starring Kriti Sanon as Janaki, ‘Adipurush’ will now hit the theatres on June 16th, 2023.
