Aditi: Arshad Is An Extremely Secure Actor
Amit Sadh and Aditi Rao Hydari are mighty excited about their upcoming release, Guddu Rangeela. Ahead of the release of the film, the duo talks to SpotboyE.com about what makes the film special. Excerpts:

Subhash Kapoor has been one of the directors on your wish list...
Amit: Subhash Sir was the first director I had met when I was trying to get into Bollywood. He was working on Jolly LLB then. He told me, "Amit, I like you but I have already cast for my movie." I never thought he'd remember me. But while casting for Guddu Rangeela, he came to me and told me, "Dekh Amit, aadha Guddu tu hai, aadha main bana loonga." It was great of him to give me such a different role after Kai Po Che.

How did Guddu Rangeela happen to you?
Aditi: Subhash Sir called me when he was making Jolly LLB. He narrates his scripts beautifully because he writes them himself. I don't know how I had the guts to tell him this but after he finished the narration, I told him, "Sir, I'd love to work in your next. But I can't do Jolly because there is nothing for me to do in the film." He very sweetly agreed. I thought he will never call me again but surprisingly, he called me for Guddu Rangeela. After the narration, he said, "This time, you're not going to be able to say no." And it was such an amazing script that I said yes instantly.

Tell us about your character.

Amit: I play Guddu, who is full of life and excitement. He is like a child at heart.

Did you have to undergo workshops to get the Haryanvi accent right?
Amit: The first 3 days in the workshop were terrible. When I saw Sir, I thought he was disappointed. So I told him that I have my own method of learning. I said that I want to read the script 9-10 times and then go on a holiday. Sir is so sweet, he sent me to Goa. I obviously didn't read the script even once during the vacation (laughs). I read the script only once on the last day in Goa.

Did you guys find it difficult to match up to Arshad's energy?
Aditi: When you are working with actors who are truly talented and secure, you don't think of these things. Arshad is one of those secure actors. When you share screen space with him, he raises the bar and elevates your performance.
