Since the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) were brutally attacked by goons, a storm has been stirred up in the nation with many people protesting against the happenings. Like many Bollywood celebrities, the Chhapaak actress, Deepika Padukone was seen taking a commendable step, supporting the protestors with her presence outside JNU yesterday, just two days before the release of her film. After pictures of Deepika from the location surfaced online, many haters took to Twitter to trend #BlockDeepika for her brave step. Clearly, the fans of the actress did not seem to be affected by anything, as Padukone fan-following just soars higher.

Padukone’s move did not go well for many, there have been calls ever since to boycott film ‘Chhapaak’ and block the actress on social media. According to reports in Latestly.com, as per social media analytics, despite the efforts of many trending #BlockDeepika, the Chhapaak actress gains major support from her fans. Deepika Padukone gets over more than twenty-six thousand followers on the micro-blogging site, and her follower count has just been increasing ever since. Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone set the record straight by extending her support to the protestors at JNU yesterday. While pictures of the actress surfaced online, many lauded Deepika for her decision, whereas the actress also got criticized for the same.





Many Bollywood celebrities like Swara Bhasker, Simi Garewal, Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Vikrant Massey hailed the actress and her move and tweeted in her favour. Impressed with Deepika’s move, filmmaker and producer Anurag Kashyap also changed his Twitter profile picture to the pictures featuring the actress from the location.
