Last night, legendary cricketer Kapil Dev suffered a heart attack and was admitted to Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in New Delhi. The former Indian cricketer is now doing better after he underwent angioplasty surgery at the hospital. Soon after the news of Kapil Dev being hospitalised spread like wildfire, his fans and friends are pouring get well soon and good wishes messages for him. Ranveer Singh, who plays Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s ’83, took to Twitter to pen a speedy recovery wish to the World Cup-winning captain.

Ranveer Singh, who’s gearing up for the release of ’83, tweeted, “The Legend @therealkapildev embodies strength and resilience Praying for a speedy recovery of my main man.” A while back, Shah Rukh Khan also sent his good wishes for Dev and tweeted, “Get well sooner than soon Paaji! @therealkapildev wishing you a speedy recovery as fast as your bowling & batting. Love to you sir.”

The hospital treating Kapil Dev recently released an official statement and where they said, “Kapil Dev suffered a heart attack. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary angioplasty was performed in the middle of night. Currently, he is admitted in ICU and under close supervision of Dr Atul Mathur and his team. Kapil Dev is stable now and he is expected to get discharged in a couple of days.”


Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone will portray the role of Kapil Dev’s real-life wife Romi Dev in Kabir Khan’s ’83. Last year, Ranveer had shared a still from the film where he was seen acing the Natraj Shot.
