The spread of coronavirus pandemic is a huge issue and in trying times like these, several influential figures of the society have stepped up to help those in need. Among the ones lending their helping hand is Bollywood megastar Salman Khan. It was just reported yesterday that the actor has pledged monetary support to 25000 daily wage workers of the film industry in need of financial assistance. Now, his father Salim Khan has opened up about how his family is taking care of their staff amid lockdown.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Salim Khan said that he didn’t want to comment on Salman Khan’s contribution, as he doesn’t know much about it. He then revealed about his family’s principle, “hamara paisa jahan jaaye, wahan dikhna chahiye aur kisike kaam aana chahiye. (wherever our money goes, it should help those in need).” Further talking about how their family is assisting and looking after their staff, he added, “we have been arranging meals for our building and Salman’s security guards. We must all look after our staff.”
Meanwhile, FWICE President B N Tiwari told PTI that Salman’s Being Human Foundation said that they would take care of the 25,000 workers who were in dire need of financial help. The foundation has also asked for account details of the workers as they want to endure that the money reaches them directly.
Besides this, other celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Randeep Hooda, Rajkummar Rao, and others have also done their bit for the cause by donating to relief funds.
