After Twitter Burns With 'Shut Down Filmcity' Protests, Varun Dhawan And Vishal Dadlani Shut Down Trolls
On October 5, the metro officials changed our lives upside down when it was reported that they have chopped over 2,500 trees at Mumbai’s largest forest Aarey at midnight. This not only angered the localities and activists but also Bollywood celebs. They all shared their disappointment and rage on their social media handle. However, soon after that, the Twitterattis started targeting the celebs for ‘apparently’ owning Film City. They even called them ‘hypocrites.’

Later, a campaign #shutdownfilmcity was also started on Twitter alongside #saveaarey as a certain section of people wanted the film frat to take responsibility for this. Some even demanded its demolition while some started sharing Google Earth images of Aarey from 1984 to highlight the construction of Film City on social media. Well, now to put an end to this accusation, and Varun Dhawan and Vishal Dadlani have decided to give a befitting reply to this. The singer/ composer took to his social media handle and shared a post on his handle as an answer to the trollers who all targeted the Bollywood celebs. The post is for those who tweeted #BollywoodReturnFilmCity in defence of the murder of Aarey Forest.

Taking it to his Instagram handle, he wrote, “A lot of you said #BollywoodReturnFilmCity to defend the govt.s murder of #Aarey. Here's the reality. If you care about you and your family having breathable air, drinkable water, a livable city and good health, please do tag @devendra_fadnavis and @narendramodi in the comments, along with a tree-emoji or a green heart and the hashtag #SaveAareyForest. Maybe, if 10000 of us say so, they'll listen.”

Even Jay Bhanushali replied on his post by saying, “I swear even I got the same message by random ppl talking abt filmcity...i wish i owned filmcity i would have replied with class...” While on the other hand, even Varun took to his Twitter account and tweeted, "This is also most definitely  wrong but what wrong has been done in the past doesn’t need to be repeated. Its not a blame game Dalvi Saab. Lets do what’s right now

Apart from Vishal, other Bollywood stars like Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhasker, Alia Bhatt have come out to express their rage over the cutting down of trees in Aarey.
