On Friday, the Air India Express plane that departed from Dubai skidded off the tabletop runway at Kerala’s Kozhikode airport. According to the reports, the plane appeared to have attempted to land twice at the airport. Reportedly, around 17 people, including the pilot and the co-pilot lost their lives in the plane crash. The aircraft had around 190 passengers on board and many were injured. The casualties were immediately shifted to the nearby hospitals. After learning about the tragic accident, celebs like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor amongst many took to their social media accounts and shared their deepest condolences to those who were affected and lost their lives in this mishap.
 
Kareena shared a note with folded hands and wrote, “Heartbreaking news... Prayers and condolences to the families of everyone affected in #AirIndiaCrash at Kozhikode. A big salute to the late Captain Deepak Sathe, whose timely decision saved many lives. Deepest condolences to his family and also those of other crew members who lost their lives.” While Arjun shared his tribute to his story where he hoped for good health and safety. “I am extremely shocked and saddened to hear about the plane crash at Kozhikode... My sincere condolences to the victims and families who sadly lost someone. Let's hope and pray for the good health and safety of all the remaining survivors.”
 
Even Alia shared her condolence on her Instagram story, saying, “This is such an unimaginable tragedy. To all the families and friends and loved one who have been terribly impacted by the air India crash you have my deepest condolences.”

"Seventeen people, including the pilot, lost their lives in the Dubai-Calicut Air India Express flight crash at Karipur airport," Malappuram Collector K Gopalakrishnan told PTI.
