Ajay Devgn's Character Details In SS Rajamouli's Magnum Opus RRR REVEALED; Actor To Play A Freedom Fighter
The buzz around Baahubali director SS Rajamouli's upcoming period drama - RRR: Rise Revolt Roar - has been insane from the time it was announced. The film stars biggies from various parts of the film industry like Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan and Jr NTR. It features Ram Charan and Jr NTR as real-life Indian freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Now, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Ajay Devgn's character in the film is on similar lines. Well, the news is nothing short of exciting, considering Devgn has always aced such roles. Let's not forget his last release, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

As per the reports, the film, which is set in the 20th century, will see Ajay playing a nationalist and guru to the lead duo in their early years. As per a source close to the film's development, Ajay has shot his part for around ten days at Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City, wherein the makers had recreated Delhi from that era. The portal states how several actors were being considered for this part; however, Ajay turned out to be the unanimous choice. Interestingly, he had given a voice-over for Rajamouli's film Makkhi.

The source said to Mumbai Mirror, "Rajamouli paid a tribute to him in Makkhi and the two have been good friends since. Ajay gave the nod within minutes of the narration. Though it is an extended cameo, his track will remind one of his National Award-winning performance in The Legend of Bhagat Singh and sets the tone for the drama involving the two leads."

As for Alia Bhatt, she will be seen as Sita and is reported to play a crucial role in the ideological fight between Ram Charan and Jr NTR. The shooting for her part was slated to commence in April but the Coronavirus lockdown made it unlikely. It is also being speculated that Alia is learning Telugu for the film.
