Akshay Kumar Brushes Off Rumours Of Attending An Event In Lucknow Amid Covid-19 Pandemic; Actor Says, ‘This News Is Absolutely Untrue'
There were speculations that actor Akshay Kumar might be visiting Lucknow to attend an event there. One Twitter user gave rise to news of the actor’s Lucknow trip after he tweeted that Khiladi Kumar would be visiting the city of Nawabs for an awards function on 23 January. However, Akshay was quick to take note of this tweet and immediately refuted rumours of his Lucknow trip, calling it ‘untrue.’

A fan tweet read, “Update: Guru ji Shri @akshaykumar will be visiting Lucknow on 23 Jan to attend Business Icon Awards 2022.” Resharing this post, the Laxmii actor wrote, “As much as I would love to visit Lucknow soon, this news is absolutely untrue.” To note, with the spike in Coronavirus cases, new travel-related guidelines have been issued by the government to curb the spread of Covid- 19, which has been rising with each passing day. Owing to restrictions, people cannot travel much.

Earlier, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Akshay had wished fans by sharing a photo of himself flying a kite. Sharing the picture, he wrote, “Meete gud mein mil gae til, udi patang aur khil gae dil (Sesame seeds mixed with jaggery, kites in the sky make our hearts swell) May #MakarSankranti bring new hope and joy in your lives. Bas vishwas ki dor pakad ke rakhna (Keep holding on the that thread of faith)."



On the professional front, the 54-year-old actor recently announced his next film ‘Selfieee’ with Emraan Hashmi. He also shared a teaser and first look poster of it on social media. Bankrolled by Karan Johar, the movie will be directed by Raj Mehta and is a Hindi remake of the 2019 Malayalam film, ‘Driving License.’ The movie marks Akshay and Emraan's first on-screen collaboration. 

Besides this, Akshay also has upcoming films such as 'Prithviraj', 'Ram Setu',  'OMG 2', 'Raksha Bandhan', and Bachchan Pandey in his kitty.
