Akshay Kumar Donates Rs 15 Lakh To A Heart-Transplant Patient In Delhi; Grandfather Of The Girl Expresses Gratitude
Akshay Kumar has donated money for the heart transplant of a 25-year-old Delhi girl
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s career might have seen a downfall in recent years, but the actor hasn’t stopped giving back to the society that has loved him so much. If reports are to be believed the actor has donated Rs 15 lakhs for the heart-transplant surgery of a 25-year-old Delhi girl, Ayushi Sharma. While the family of the patient are still waiting for a donor, Akki’s help has given them new hope expressed her grandfather.
In an interview with ETimes, Yogendra Arun, Ayushi’s grandfather, opened up about Khiladi Kumar rushing to their aid after Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, director of Samrat Prithviraj, told him about them. Talking about his granddaughter’s condition he went on to reveal that Ayushi was born with a heart defect and currently her heart is only 25% functional. ALSO READ: WHAT! Talking about receiving help from the 55-year-old actor, Mr Arun told the entertainment publication, “I told Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi that I will take the money from Akshay ji but I should be allowed to express my gratitude and that is why I wanted to talk about the large-hearted actor.”
He further added that the doctors at the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram suggested to the family that the only option they have left is a heart transplant. The 82-year-old retired principal said, “The doctors have suggested that a heart transplant is the only option left for us. Mr Arun went on to reveal that Akshay has promised the family to help them with more money if needed, as Ayushi’s treatment might cost upto Rs 50 lakhs.
According to ETimes, the Hera Pheri actor has been helping out in the social, health and education departments, but never like to talk about it.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar is all set to make his Marathi debut with Mahesh Manjrekar directorial Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. He will be seen playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He also has movies like The Biopic Of Jaswant Singh Gill, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Selfie in the pipeline.
