Akshay Kumar Mocks Maratha Warrior In Detergent Commercial, Twitterverse Says 'Disgusting', Trends #BoycottNirma
A leading detergent powder brand made a video with Akshay Kumar where he is seen as a Maratha warrior. Nevertheless, the ad was not well received by the people and instead gained a lot of flak for making a mockery of Maratha warriors. Just yesterday we reported that Akshay Kumar’s recent commercial ad where he is seen mocking the Maratha warriors landed him in legal trouble. A police complaint has been filed at Worli Police Station, Mumbai, against the actor for mocking the Marathi culture and hurting the sentiments of people in Maharashtra. However, the spark which Akshay created after this ad has not gone off as the netizens have come on social media and started trending #BoycottNirma.

They are many who called out on Akshay Kumar for starring in such a ‘disgusting ad’ and the owner of the detergent powder for ‘making a mockery of Maratha soldiers.’ One Twitter user wrote that Akshay needs to apologise for the mockery, “I will #BoycottNirma products after watching this disgusting Ad Nirma Ltd and Akshay Kumar should apologise for mocking Marathi Warrirors.” One user directly asked Akki if he can do the same thing with Mughal invaders or Britishers, “#BoycottNirma Pro-Hindus can never bear insult of their Great Maratha Warriors shown in such funny advertisement. Will @akshaykumar dare to make fun of any mughal invader or britishers in same way?”

There was another one to asked the Good Newwz actor to read the history of Maratha warriors, “Mr. @akshaykumar, have you ever read history of Maratha's ? If No then go and read their sacrifice towards Nation. Else dont mock our Maratha culture ! #BoycottNirma” While another one wrote, “Nirma makes a mockery of Maratha soldiers, to sell its washing powder! Showing Marathas is such a comic way is the insult of Maratha Culture and Maratha Warriors. #BoycottNirma @RajThackeray”

So far, Kumar and the owner of the detergent powder have not said a word on the matter.
