Akshay Kumar, R Balki Shoot In Mumbai With Precautions; Alia Bhatt’s Gangubhai Kathiawadi To Resume Shoot First Post Lockdown: Reports
Currently, with the lockdown imposed in the country, the film and television industry is on a break with many film shoots postponed until further notice. Apart from that, the theatrical release of many movies is also not confirmed as of yet. Even though the film and television industry is shut down in order to maintain social distancing, reports state that Akshay Kumar shot for a government advertisement with filmmaker R Balki today at Kamalistan studio. According to reports, Alia Bhatt’s film Gangubhai Kathiawadi might be  the first to resume shooting post lockdown.

According to a report in the ETimes, actor Akshay Kumar shot for a government advertisement with filmmaker R Balki. The director-actor duo shot for the Ad at the famous Kamalistan studio in Mumbai with minimal crew. The crew present on the shoot location made sure they take proper precautions and maintain social distancing while on the sets. The report stated that the crew and cast completed the shoot in a matter of two hours, and made sure everyone wore masks and gloves while shooting for the Ayushman Bharat campaign.

In the report, FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) general secretary, Ashok Dubey revealed that the necessary permission for the shoot was sought from the Commissioner of Police. He shared that the shoot took place with minimum crew members and talking about the on-set precautions, he added, “They had a sanitiser tunnel, masks, gloves, all the norms were followed according to the government.”

Meanwhile, Ashok Dubey also mentioned that after the lockdown will be lifted, Alia Bhatt’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi is supposedly going to be the first films to go on floors. Talking about the shooting of the film resuming post lockdown, he said, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali was already shooting in Filmcity and his set is still there. So the possibility is that his movie will be the first to resume shoot with the necessary precautions, once the permission is granted by CM.” Dubey mentioned that as director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was already shooting in Filmcity, with his set already there, there’s a possibility the film might be first to go on floors after the permission is granted by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
