Even before Akshay Kumar’s next titled Prithviraj hits the shooting floors, it has a hurdle to cross. Backed by Yash Raj Films and scheduled to release in Diwali 2020, it might land into a legal soup if the makers try to hamper the originality of the great warrior, Prithviraj Chauhan’s story to make it look appealing for the audience. The actor and makers have been warned by the former dacoit of Chambal, Malkhan Singh to strictly stick to the facts and do not bend it according to their creative vision.

Malkhan Singh in a conversation with India Today was heard saying that the actor should meet him first before the film goes on the floors. Going further he also revealed taking a legal route if the makers don’t abide by the same. The film is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who also helmed the television series based on this epic warrior. Malkhan Singh belongs to Madhya Pradesh which was also parts of areas ruled by Prithviraj Chauhan. Though we have watched Akki in Kesari playing Havildar Ishar Singh it will be thrilling and exciting to watch him play Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan on the silver screen.

The announcement came on Akki’s 52nd birthday this year, which was nothing less than a return birthday gift for his fans. Sharing the first poster of the film on his Instagram handle Akki had written, “Truly happy to share the news of my first historical film on my birthday. I’m humbled to have the opportunity to play a hero I look up to for his valor and values - Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan - in one of my biggest films #Prithviraj produced by @yrf . Directed by #DrChandraprakashDwivedi. #Prithviraj in theatres Diwali 2020."

Makers are yet to finalise on the female lead for the movie. The actor has an interesting line up of projects for the upcoming year such as Housefull 4, Good News, Sooryavanshi and Laxmmi Bomb.
