Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has come a long way since he marked his debut in 1991. From starring in his first film Saugandh, Akshay has been a part of several hit films over the decade and also entertained fans with his stellar performances.  As the actor has a Bollywood career spanning over 29 years, amidst the sparked up Nepotism debate on social media, a video of Akshay talking about the time when he was once replaced overnight by Ajay Devgn during his first film surfaces.

Taking to Twitter, a social media user shared a video of Akshay Kumar talking about his early days in Bollywood. The video features Akshay during an interview with MidDay. In the video, the actor gets candid about the time when he was replaced overnight by Ajay Devgn during his first film. When asked about his great relationship with Ajay Devgn, and the story behind his first film where he was replaced by the actor, Akshay Kumar revealed details on what happened.

The Sooryavanshi actor said, “I was in Phool Aur Kaante.” Accepting that he was set to star in the 1991 film Phool Aur Kaante before he was replaced by Ajay Devgn, Akshay revealed during the interview that he had made sure he was a part of the making of all the songs, the photoshoots, and lots more. The actor went on to share the experience he had while being a part of the making of the songs. Moving on, Akshay revealed that night before the shoot, when he was preparing for his first day of the shoot, he received a call where he was told of being replaced. The actor laughed out on the incident and shared that he was told, “Bhai aap mat aana.”


Meanwhile, as Akshay Kumar shared his personal experience, today, the actor has managed to carve his niche in Bollywood, by being one of the topmost successful actors in the country. Work-wise lately, Akshay has films Laxmmi Bomb releasing on an OTT platform, while his much-anticipated cop-thriller Sooryavanshi is scheduled for a theatrical release.
