The Meghna Gulzar directorial crossed the 100 crore mark at the box office in just 17 days. Set in the India of 1971 and amidst the backdrop of the India Pakistan war the same year, the film covered all the possible eras and ended up grossing 155 crore at the worldwide box office.

Badhaai Ho packed a fantastic total of Rs 66.10 crore in its first week and went past the coveted 100 crore mark in its third week. Being a clean family entertainer, Badhaai Ho broke taboos, by making the audiences laugh out loud. Eventually, it ended with crackling numbers at the box office.
