There was a time when Alia Bhatt’s IQ level had become National concern or at least for the reporters who seemed to have taken it too seriously and didn't get over Alia’s debacle on Karan Johar’s talk show where she named Prithviraj Chauhan as the President of India. Just to recall the incident, when the actress graced the show along with her co-stars Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan after the success of her debut film Student Of The Year, she was asked about the President of India in the rapid-fire segment where she quipped, Prithviraj Chauhan
It was only Sidharth who gave the correct answer which is Pranab Mukherjee, while Varun answered Manmohan Singh and since she became the butt of all jokes and was made fun of her knowledge and IQ. However, for the longest time, she used to take it sportingly and used to laugh it out. In fact, she once spoke about being targeted every time when there’s GK question, “I don't get upset at it, I laugh at it. I am the first person to laugh at myself. I always say that I rather be stupid than pretend to be intelligent.” Having said that, she did not take it sportingly when a reporter tried to test her GK as the media reporter in return had to face the anger of Alia Bhatt
During an award function, a reporter asked her, “Alia, do you know why Holi is celebrated?” - totally unrelated and out of the blue. She first ignores the questions and heads inside the venue but then she chose to return and give it back to him and asked him, “Do you know who is South Africa’s President? Or Singapore President? China’s President?” She further pointed a finger at him, threatening, “Don’t ask if you don’t know, bro.” Watch the video:
Meanwhile, on her work front, Alia Bhatt will be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Karan Johar’s Takht.
