Alia Bhatt Once Opened Up About Existence Of Nepotism In Bollywood: ‘Can't Wake Up And Say Sorry For Being Born In This Family’
In the days following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the debate around nepotism and pressure on outsiders in Bollywood was reignited. Several Bollywood biggies and star kids faced the wrath of a section of Netizens on social media, following which many celebs even deactivated Twitter. Amid nepotism debate, Alia Bhatt and her family have been on the receiving end of criticism online, as a result of which, the recently released trailer of Sadak 2 starring Alia, Pooja Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sanjay Dutt crossed 12 million dislikes.

Alia has chosen to maintain her silence amid all this, however, the actress had once aired her views on the existence of nepotism in Bollywood. She opened up about it at the fourth edition of Women of Worth (WOW) Awards 2019 held in Mumbai, during which she said that she cannot apologize for being born in the family, however, she can definitely work hard to prove her mettle and to prove that she deserved to be here.

She had said, “It feels terrible if you feel like somebody else is getting an opportunity because of their family line, so there is no way to counter that thought. It does exist. As I said, there are no negative thoughts. I can't wake up and say sorry for being born in this family. But I can definitely say that I will work as hard as possible to prove that I deserve to be here."
