Bollywood actress and filmmaker Alia Bhatt is one of the most sought-after actresses in the Hindi film industry. She has made a name for herself in the industry with her versatile performances and fashion statement. She took the internet by storm with her appearance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding bash alongside her husband Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Raha. However, the actress has now found herself in a controversy, as netizens called her out for her association with a high-end Italian luxury brand.

The incident came to life weeks after she proudly attended the press conference of Prime Video’s recently released web series Poacher. Dealing with animal cruelty issues, the eight-episode show highlights the horrific practice of illegally killing elephants or the ivory trade. On Tuesday, Alia was spotted at an event alongside Vijay Varma, endorsing a leather handbag, reportedly made of cow skin, worth $2800. While fans came to defend her, netizens lashed out at the 30-year-old for endorsing a brand like Gucci and also producing projects like Poacher. Sharing screenshots of her pictures with the handbag and the details of it, one wrote, “Animal activist and environmentalist Alia Bhatt promoting Gucci's leather bag made up of Cow skin.
