Though the producers of Half Girlfriend are not confirming who'll play the female lead in the film, actress Alia Bhatt has given enough of a hint to her fans that she's most likely going to play the part in her cousin, Mohit Suri's film.
The actress tweeted a picture of Chetan Bhagat's book. "Look who followed me to Spain," she tweeted, almost confirming that she is part of the project.
The film, which also marks the debut of Chetan Bhagat as a producer, and Mohit Suri and Balaji Telefilms as co-producers on the project, had a book reading with Kriti Sanon, probably as red herring to divert the attention from Alia, but Alia gave it away and how!
The film is a story about a college going girl named Riya who agrees to be Half Girlfriend of her small- town batch mate named Madhav. It's an urban-rural romance, and captures the disparity among classes.
