Ameesha Patel’s Instagram Account Hacked, Maharashtra Cyber Police Helps Her Recover It
Just in the last week of 2020, filmmaker Farah Khan alerted her fans of her social media account being hacked, now as we step into 2021 one more Bollywood figure fell prey to it. Actress Ameesha Patel’s account was hacked, the news was confirmed as per reports in PTI. A press note was shared by Maharashtra Cyber Police on January 4, 2021 of the actress complaining to them about her account being hacked. Fortunately she was helped by the Cyber police to retrieve her account.

While complaining about this hacking activity she mentioned, she received a direct message stating her Instagram account will be suspended in 24 hours and as soon as she clicked on the link, she was directed to a fake site, post which she lost control of her social media account. The person in-charge of his case shared that the hacker had blocked her account, but later they with the help of Instagram reactivated her account.

As reported in PTI, the police in-charge of this case was quoted saying, “She filed a complaint with us on Monday. The hacker had blocked the account and deleted the contents. However, we contacted Instagram and got them to reactivate the account with all its contents intact.”


Few days ago actor Sharad Kelkar’s account was hacked in a similar manner. Also revealing about setting up an investigation in Ameesha Patel’s case, the hacker’s link was tracked down in the Netherlands, while the IP address was shown in Turkey. "The phishing link was sent from a Netherlands URL while the IP address has been located to Turkey.
