On August 12, the makers of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl released the film digitally. While the makers and actors of the film are being applauded by one and all, it was recently in news for some wrong reasons too. Soon after the film was dropped on OTT platform Netflix, Indian Air Force wrote a letter to Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) expressing its displeasure over the negative portrayal of IAF in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. But on the other hand, the film continues to rule the OTT platform and everyone’s heart, Janhvi Kapoor shared some BTS videos of her hard work.
A while back, Janhvi Kapoor shared hard work filled BTS videos that see her journey of portraying the role of IAF Pilot. Sharing the BTS videos, Janhvi Kapoor captioned it, “The best memories. A journey I will always be eternally grateful for; for the people I met along the way, and for everything I felt and learnt” The first video sees her donning the uniform while the next sees her running in a studio.
Meanwhile, IAF in their letter to Censor Board wrote, “In the aim to glorify the screen character of EX-Flt Lt Gunjan Saxena, M/S Dharma Productions presented some situations that are misleading and portray an inappropriate work culture especially against women in the IAF.”

“Dharma Productions was informed about the objectionable portion of the movie and was advised to delete/modify the same. However, the production house has not deleted the scenes but it proposed a media plan in the run-up to the release and insert a disclaimer in the movie,” read the excerpt from the letter.
