Late actors Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Amar Akbar Anthony is known to be one of the iconic films in the history of Indian cinema. The film soon gained a cult status and soon became one of their favourite films, including ours. However, today, the film completed 43 years of its release and to mark this day, Amitabh shared an endearing snap of his kids – little Shweta Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan who visited him on the sets of AAA while he was shooting for ‘My name is Anthony Gonsalves’ song. Along with this, he also an interesting trivia on its BO collections that surpassed Baahubali 2’s Biz back then

While sharing the picture, he captioned it as, “SHWETA and Abhishek visit me on set of Amar Akbar Anthony .. shooting song ‘My name is Anthony Gonsalves’ .. at Holiday Inn Ball Room .. this pic on the beach front .. 43 YEARS of AAA, today .. !!!” He also recalled the time when the director narrated the idea and title of the film which seemed a lot out of place for Big B, “When Man ji came to narrate the idea to me .. and told me the Title .. I thought he had lost it .. at a time in the 70’s when film titles revolved around Behen Bhabhi and Beti , this one was so out of place .. BUT ..”

Interestingly, he also mentioned a fun fact about AAA’s box-office collections which have also some relevance to Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati’s Baahubali collection. Well, he mentioned that if we take inflation in account, then Amar Akbar Anthony’s BO collections has surpassed Baahubali 2’s box-office collection. He further wrote, “It is reported that it did a business of 7.25 cr at that time .. inflation adjusted it crosses collections of Bahubali 2 .. say the sayers who do calculations. But fact is it did massive business .. did 25 weeks in 25 theatres in Mumbai alone .. or so they say ..Doesn’t happen now ... gone are those days !!” Check out the picture below:
