It goes without saying that megastar Amitabh Bachchan is the biggest cheerleader and supporter of his son Abhishek Bachchan. Big B was super proud of his son after he won the Best Actor award for his brilliant performance in Dasvi at the Filmfare OTT Awards 2022. Amitabh penned a heartwarming appreciation note for Abhishek saying finally through his sincere perseverance and belief he has proved his mettle as a talented actor. Amitabh also recalled how his son used to be ridiculed and mocked.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the 80-year-old actor posted photos of his son and wrote, “T 4503 - My pride .. my joy .. you have proved your point .. you were derided , ridiculed mocked .. but you silently without any tom tomming , showed your mettle .. you are and shall ever be the BEST.” In the next-follow up post, he added, “a most deserving Award .. well done Bhaiyu .. you were and are and shall ever be the best ! FINALLY .. you have through sincere perseverance and belief .. proved your point .. !! And shall continue to do so .. time and again .. You can be derided, but you cannot be ignored !! At the award ceremony, while the Dhoom actor bagged the best actor honour, his film ‘Dasvi’ won the best film award. 

Helmed by Tushar Jalota, the social comedy showed Abhishek in the role of Ganga Ram Chaudhary, the 8th passed chief minister who was in jail for his involvement in a scam. It also featured Nimrit Kaur and Yami Gautam and received a positive response from the audience.
