As per a Bollywood life report, in an old episode of KBC, the 79-year-old actor had once revealed that his wife Jaya does not need expensive gifts, instead, she wants his time. In the last season of the show, the Baghban actor shared an incident when he waited outside the newspaper office just to read the reviews of his play. During his theatre days, he used to take immense pride in seeing his name esteemed in the newspaper. Moving on, Amitabh had once also revealed the story behind his surname. The actor revealed that his parents were from different castes, his mother Teji Bachchan was a Sikh while his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan was from the Kayasth family of Uttar Pradesh. His dad decided on the surname Bachchan because it does not indicate any caste.

The Don actor also reflected back during Covid 19 induced lockdown days and revealed on his show that once his family sneaked out secretly without telling him. In one of the seasons of KBC, Amitabh also revealed after he completed college, he attempted the Civil exam and failed.
