Amrita Rao Waives Off Her Tenants' Rent For 4 Months Amid COVID-19 Lockdown
Bollywood actress Amrita Rao has let go off her tenants’ rent from the month of March to July due to COVID-19 lockdown
COVID-19 Pandemic pressed pause button on our day-to-day activities. Social distancing being one of the most important factors to curtail the spread of the novel Coronavirus, it left many with no choice but to survive will less to no income at all. Actress Amrita Rao as per reports in IANS has let go off her tenants’ rent keeping in mind this financial crisis. The actress has decided to not take rent from her tenants from the month of March 2020 when the lockdown began to July 2020.
Reports also included of the actress shedding light on the professions of her tenants residing in her property. She revealed of her tenants being freelance professionals earning their livelihood as per projects such as acting and cinematography. Also this does not confirm a guaranteed income. She said, “Some of my tenants are in freelance professions like acting and cinematography. Such professions have no guaranteed monthly income. The pandemic is a dire situation for all and they decided to be safer with their families back home. I feel the situation calls for me to be understanding and help them in my best capacity.”
However, she further added people who are employed even amidst of this crisis and have been residing as tenants should not take undue advantage of this unexpected condition and skip paying their dues.
Amrita added, “Those tenants who have been occupying flats and have not lost their jobs should not use the lockdown as a mere pretext to skip paying dues and harass the landlords unnecessarily, which is also a growing menace during the lockdown.”
