Anil Kapoor On Kartik Aaryan’s Marital Rape Monologue In Pati, Patni Aur Woh: ‘Youngsters Don’t Know How To Say No, Their Intent Isn’t Wrong’
The trailer of Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh released a few days ago and soon after its release, it created a lot of controversy for a particular scene in the trailer. The scene in question is a monologue on marital rape by Kartik Aaryan and filmmakers received severe backlash on social media for it. Twitterverse was furious and people called out makers for showing stupidity in the name of entertainment. Now, Pagalpanti stars John Abraham and Anil Kapoor have addressed the controversy in a recent interview.

John Abraham and Anil Kapoor will next be seen in the comedy film Pagalpanti along with Saurabh Shukla, Arshad Warsi, and Ileana D’cruz. They were asked in a recent interview by Pinkvilla if they make sure to change anything in the script if they find something is offensive or insensitive, in context to Pati Patni Aur Woh controversy. John replied that he cannot deal with adult humour. He said, Pagalpanti is a universal movie and you can target anyone from the age of 5 to 80-80 and there’s nothing offensive in it. “There is no bloodshed, the villains are cute, everything is very good and positive about the film. Subconsciously I don't. I can't do adult humour, so anything if it katkos (bothers) me in a line and I feel it might be offensive as far as humour goes, I probably wouldn't say it." Anil Kapoor also replied to it and said that sometimes it also depends on who you are working with. “Sometimes you work with someone where you feel trapped. You trust a director completely and then feel 'what is this line?' There are youngsters and newcomers, they don't know how to say no and don't realise it and later they feel they received flak for it. But their intent is not wrong," he said.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, Pagalpanti starring John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Arshad Warsi, Ileana D’Cruz and others is set to release on the 22nd of November.
