Anil Kapoor and his wife Sunita Kapoor have been together and oh-so-madly in love for more than 46 years now. They have three very amazing and successful kids- Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, and Harshvardhan Kapoor. Their love story is surely a memorable one that began with a prank call. Now years later, their love for each other is only growing strong with each passing day. Their epic love story includes Sunita going on their honeymoon alone, and her marrying him after he was able to afford a cook.

Back in 2018, Anil Kapoor had spoken at length about their love story with Humans of Bombay. He started narrating their story by explaining how he first spoke to her. “A friend of mine gave Sunita my number to prank call me – that’s when I first spoke to her and fell in love with her voice! A few weeks later, we met at a party and I was introduced to her...there was something about her that just attracted me.”  He said they bonded over Anil’s broken heart and organically he later started dating Sunita, who was a banker’s daughter with a happening modeling career.

Anil Kapoor added that Sunita was clear from the beginning that she won’t enter the kitchen and cook. “If I said ‘cook’ I’d get a kick! So in my mind I knew, I needed to become something before asking her to marry me.” However, Anil Kapoor added that there was no pressure from her about his work, and her support was unconditional.


After their marriage, Anil Kapoor went for his shoot 3 days later and Sunita Kapoor headed abroad for their honeymoon, without him. “We’ve raised 3 children and been through all kinds of ups and downs. But I feel like we’re finally dating now – our romantic walks and dinners have just begun!” he said.
