This time around, ‘First Salary’ is trending on Twitter, and people have been recalling their first jobs and source of income. From Bollywood celebrities to politicians, several famous personalities have revealed their first salaries, what age they earned it, how they earned it, and what they spent it on. Filmmakers Anubhav Sinha and Hansal Mehta had interesting replies!

Anubhav Sinha revealed that he earned Rs 80 at the age of 18, when he was just an engineering student. He earned the money by tutoring a seventh-grade student in Arithmetic so that he could smoke during his engineering college days. “First Salary- Rs 80. Age- 18. Arithmetic tuition to a class 7 student to earn for my smoking in the Engg college,” tweeted Anubhav Sinha. Further quoting Anubhav Sinha’s tweet, Hansal Mehta also revealed his first salary was Rs 450, and he earned it by working as a salesperson at a clothing shop. He shared that he used the money to fund his college wardrobe.

“First salary- Rs.450pm. Age-16. Salesperson at Intershoppe Kemp’s Corner selling Fu’s jeans and casual wear to earn money for my junior college wardrobe,” he tweeted.


Meanwhile, on the work front, Anubhav Sinha directed Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad earlier this year, and the film received wide critical acclaim. He will be collaborating with Ayushmann Khurrana for his upcoming directorial venture. Meanwhile, Hansal Mehta’s SonyLIV series Scam 1992 was well received by the viewers and critics, and his latest film Chhalaang starring Nushrratt Bharuccha, Rajkummar Rao, released recently.
