Anurag Basu On His Acting Stint In Ludo: ‘I Have No Doubts About My Acting Skills, So I Don’t Want To Come Back On The Screen Again’-EXCLUSIVE
Filmmaker Anurag Basu is known for his unique and heart-touching style of filmmaking. He has dabbled across different genres and given amazing films in all. From supernatural films like Saaya and Kucch To Hai, to thrillers like Murder and Gangster, dramas like Kites and Barfi, musical like Jagga Jasoos and anthologies like Life In A… Metro and Ludo, the director has given us all.

His last directorial Ludo garnered a lot of praise at the time of its release and got Anurag a lot of recognition in the forms of awards too. But apart from being behind the camera, Anurag also appeared in front of it this time around in Ludo, as the narrator Yamraj.

Now that he has faced the camera for Ludo and also has four years of experience of being in front of the camera as a reality show judge in Super Dancer, ask him if it has motivated him to do more work in front of the camera and he bursts into laughter. “I have done a lot of theatre but I never wanted to act. It was due to the circumstances that I had to act in Ludo, but I have no doubts about my acting skills, so I don’t want to come back on the screen again. I struggle in front of the camera in reality shows as well,” he insists.

Speaking about Super Dancer, the show is currently in its fourth season and in an era where reality show judges change every season, he, along with Shilpa Shetty and Geeta Kapur, has been a constant through all four seasons. Ask him the reason behind it and he says, “There is a lot of luck there as well, as the seasons usually don’t fall in between the shoot of my films. There has never been a clash between the show and my film’s shoot. Also, not just for me, Geeta and Shilpa, but the whole unit and team, the whole ecosystem of Super Dancer is very infectious. I love to go there and I look forward to the days of filming for it.”
