Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was accused of sexual harassment after actress Payal Ghosh tweeted that he had forced himself on her. The actress urges PM Narendra Modi to take action against him. Anurag Kashyap reacted to this and denied #MeToo allegations leveled against him and called them ‘baseless’. Soon after, Taapsee Pannu came out in support of her friend Anurag Kashyap, and called him the biggest feminist she knows. Taapsee was called out for her hypocrisy on social media and soon, pictures of her with Anurag Kashyap went viral on social media.

Taapsee Pannu, showing her support to Anurag wrote, “For you, my friend , are the biggest feminist I know. See you on the sets soon of yet another piece of art that shows how powerful and significant women are in the world you create :).” Many Twitter users called out her hypocrisy and dug out a tweet of the actress about #MeToo movement from back in 2018 wherein she urged everyone to stop celebrating #MeToo accused.

Meanwhile, dismissing Payal Ghosh’s allegations against him, Anurag Kashyap tweeted in Hindi, “Such a long time was taken to shut me up, never mind. (But) while shutting me up, you lied so much that you dragged other women also in it. Please maintain some dignity madam. All I will say is that all your allegations are baseless.”
