AR Rahman's Daughter Takes A Dig At Taslima Nasreen In New Post, 'Away From Suffocation' She Writes
AR Rahman's daughter Khatija was recently called out by Taslima Nasreen who expressed her displeasure over Khatija's choice of wearing a burqa. Now, in her latest post, Khatija has taken a dig at her.
Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman's daughter Khatija Rahman made it to the headlines when her choice to wear a burqa got discussed on social media. Author Taslima Nasreen had questioned Khatija Rahman for her choice and even stated that she feels suffocated to see her wearing a burqa. Later, Khatija had posted a long post giving it back to Taslima and stating that it is her choice and that she does not regret it. Now, in her latest Instagram post, Khatija has once again taken a dig at Taslima.
Sharing a picture with father and sister, Khatija wrote on Instagram "Peaceful time with family away from “suffocation". Along with the caption, she attached a few hashtags like #livingmylife #beingawayfromhome #beingawayfromnegativepeople #bosslife #bosslady #burqawalisareempowered. In the picture, we also see AR Rahman's other daughter Raheema Rehman who is not wearing a veil.
Raheema too posted a few pictures with sister and dad and wrote, "ops, I’m not wearing a veil! Here’s a picture depicting how much we respect each other’s choices. You should try doing that sometime! #HatersGonnaHate#PotatoesGonnaPotate."
On February 11, Taslima had posted, "I absolutely love A R Rahman's music. But whenever i see his dear daughter, i feel suffocated. It is really depressing to learn that even educated women in a cultural family can get brainwashed very easily!" Sharing the screenshot of her tweet, Khatija had then retorted saying, "Been only a year and this topic is in the rounds again..there’s so much happening in the country and all people are concerned about is the piece of attire a woman wants to wear. Wow, I’m quite startled. Every time this topic comes the fire in me rages and makes me want to say a lot of things..Over the last one year, I’ve found a different version of myself which I haven’t seen in so many years. I will not be weak or regret the choices I’ve made in life."
