According to a report in Hindustan Times, a case has been filed against Arjun Rampal in Bombay High Court by a company called YT Entertainment for not returning the loan of Rs 1 crore. Reportedly, Arjun had taken the loan from YT Entertainment in May 2018 and had promised to pay off this loan within a time period of 90 days with 12 per cent interest per annum, but he failed to do so. The company, through solicitor Aurup Dasgupta, has filed a lawsuit against the actor.

However, the actor revealed the issue has been cleared. “The issue has been cleared and the transaction has happened. It would make clear in court when the lawsuit comes up for hearing,” Arjun told the daily.

Revealing the details of the case, a report in Hindustan Times states, “The actor was served a legal notice under provisions of section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 on October 8, where he was asked to pay Rs 1 crore with interest, within 14 days. But, as he failed to comply, a criminal complaint was filed against Rampal in the metropolitan magistrate court at Andheri on October 29. Rampal then paid Rs 7.5 lakh to the firm on November 22, but as he failed to pay the entire loan amount, a commercial suit was filed for recovery of Rs 10,050,000 with interest, on Tuesday, after adjusting the Rs 7.5 lakh he had already paid. Dasgupta has refuted Rampal’s claim and said the actor has not returned any money apart from Rs 7.5 lakh.”
