Arrested On Molestation Charges, Let Out On Bail, Is Vijay Raaz Back On The Sets Of Vidya Balan-Led Sherni?
If latest reports are anything to go by then a day after being granted bail in molestation case, Vijay Raaz reports to the sets of Vidya Balan-led Sherni to complete the pending shoot.
On Tuesday, Vijay Raaz was arrested by Gondia for allegedly molesting a female crew member on the sets of Sherni headlined by Vidya Balan. The incident took place on the sets on Monday. The shooting of Sherni is taking place in the jungles of Balaghat since October 21. The Gully Boy actor was arrested from a five-star hotel on Tuesday and was later released on bail in the evening. But now if latest reports are anything to go by then a day after granting bail, Raaz returned to Sherni sets to complete the impending shoot.
According to a report in Mid-day, Vijay Raaz reported to the sets of Sherni on Wednesday. As per reports, filmmakers Amit Masurkar and producer Vikram Malhotra are yet to conclude punitive measures against the Gully Boy actor, the entire cast and crew has been instructed to complete the pending shoot by the weekend. Since Vidya Balan had completed her portion she was stayed put in a hotel.
Recently, a crew member revealed that the incident took place in the full view of 30 people where Vijay yanked her arm and she lost her temper. The crew member told Mid-day, “She was sitting when Vijay yanked her arm to call for her attention. She lost her temper as this is no way to behave with a female colleague at a workplace. That said, we can vouch that Vijay did not molest her. The director [Amit Masurkar] and the producers immediately stepped in to understand the situation and encouraged her to file an official complaint with the studio, Abundantia Entertainment.”
Gondia Additional Superintendent of Police Atul Kulkarni told The Indian Express, “The woman came to us with the complaint on Monday night, saying she was molested by Vijay Raaz in a hotel where the film crew is staying. Based on her complaint, we lodged an FIR and arrested Raaz on Tuesday morning. A local court later granted him conditional bail.” “We collected evidence of the incident and then proceeded to arrest Raaz. There are eye-witnesses from the crew who have spoken to us about the accusation being true”, he added.
