Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul are one of the most loved couples in the industry. Over the past few days, reports have been surfacing, claiming that the lovebirds could be getting married by the end of this year. It is also reported that the couple plans to have a South-Indian style wedding in winter. The actress' birthday post for her beau left their fans even more excited.
For the uninitiated, Athiya shared some romantic pictures with her beau to wish him on his birthday. He replied with, "Love You." The post left their fans wondering if the rumours of their wedding are true.
However, Athiya's close friend said that there's no truth to the rumours. Speaking to Bombay Times, Athiya's close friend said, "It's not true! There's no wedding happening this year. Athiya has two projects starting at different intervals in this year. One is for the web domain, the other is a theatrical movie. KL Rahul has the world cup coming up and his schedule is blocked with different tournaments before that. With their hands full, where do they have the time to have a wedding this year?" This isn't the first time Athiya and KL Rahul sparked wedding rumours. Earlier this year, Athiya's father Suniel Shetty had slammed reports about the couple's wedding. The actor had tweeted, "Unsure whether to be pained or amused. Can't understand the need to 'scoop' before verifying any facts at all. This type of irresponsible reportage is what dents the credibility of journalism."
