Ayushmann Khurrana And Makers Of Bala Land In Legal Trouble For Plagiarism
Ayushmann Khurrana, filmmaker Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan find themselves in legal mess after Kamal Kant Chandra accused them of stealing his story idea for their movie, Bala
Ayushmann Khurrana is the poster boy for quirky subjects. From playing a sperm donor in Vicky Donor to a man suffering from erectile dysfunction in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, the actor’s experimentations have often paid off. This time, he will be playing a man dealing with premature balding in his upcoming flick Bala.
However, even before the movie could go on the floors, it has hit a roadblock. A report in Navbharat Times states that the actor along with the director Amar Kaushik and producer Dinesh Vijan have been accused by Kamal Kant Chandra for stealing his script idea. Reportedly, Kamal had shared the story idea with Ayushmann over WhatsApp. While the actor loved the story, he never did the film.
Later, he stopped replying to Kamal and went on to announce a movie on the concept. The report quoted director Amar Kaushik as saying, "I have no idea about this, we have been scripting the story since the past four-five months. There is a possibility that the characters could be the same. I don’t know his script, nor have I met him. I have been writing this story since day one and it could be a tale about any balding man. And as far as the legal case is concerned, the producers will take care of it."
The case has been registered in Bombay High Court. Bala also stars Bhumi Pednekar in it.
