The makers of Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala and Sunny Singh’s Ujda Chaman have got into a legal tussle over copyright violation. Who will win this game?
On October 1, Abhishek Pathak unveiled the trailer of his directorial debut, Ujda Chaman starring Sunny Singh. The film talked about a man who is suffering from premature balding. However, Bollywood also saw another film on the similar lines which Ayushmann Khurrana’s Bala and the trailer was dropped on the internet on Thursday. This doesn’t end here, the makers even shared a similar poster that showed us the uncanny similarities between them. This not only got the audience talking but left the makers of Ujda Chaman fuming. So much so that, the makers have now got into a legal tussle over copyright violation and we wonder who will win this game.
What’s making Udja Chaman makers even more furious because Maddock films shifted its released date. From November 15 to now November 7 which is a day before Sunny Singh starter. Ujda Chaman is scheduled to release on November 8, almost clashing with Ayushmann Khurrana's Bala at the box-office.
SpotboyE.com had earlier contacted Kumar Mangat to know if he is planning another strategy to combat the clash. To which an extremely disappointed producer said, “It is extremely unethical and wrong on Maddock films part to clash with our film. We always were coming on Nov 8. But what can we do now? Let them come. I am sure my film is good.”
Now while talking to Mumbai Mirror, Director Abhishek Pathak said that releasing 2 films at the same time will harm the films and industry both. “At least let it be a healthy competition. In this case, even their poster design is similar.” As quoted by the leading tabloid. So which one are you eager to watch on the big screen? Well, this is something now only time can tell.
