Amitabh Bachchan’s make-up man of over three decades, Deepak Sawants film Leader top lining the superstar has been stuck for the last five months for the lack of distributor. It seems the film, featuring Bachchan and his wife Jaya in pivotal roles, hasnt found its takers as yet. Its trailer was launched by the Bachchans amidst great fanfare in April-May this year; the film was slated to release on May 22. However, the date was pushed ahead, following some technical glitches.
The films release date has been changed several times over the last few months, and no date has been finalised for the release as yet. A source close to the project reveals, “Deepak Sawant is finding it difficult to get a distributor for the film on board. Though it features Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan in it, its a niche film. He has been struggling with it alongside personal problems. Hopefully, he will have someone to distribute the film by next month.”
Deepak Sawant, however, remained unavailable for a comment.
