Even Ajay’s actor wife Kajol showered praises on the film and called it a ‘paisa vasool’ film. On a related note, `Bholaa` which starred Devgn in the titular role is an official Hindi remake of the Tamil hit film `Kaithi`. It also featured Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles, while Amala Paul and Abhishek Bachchan were seen in special appearances. The thriller, which is Ajay’s fourth directorial venture, received an ‘UA’ certificate from the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC). It is garnering good responses from the audience and critics alike.
Speaking about the film, Ajay in an interview asserted that he wanted the menace to travel deep. The objective was to carefully construct different identities for the various baddies who show up in Bholaa's path.
