Big-ticket Movies That Are Yet To See The Light Of Day
Announcements of prestigious projects have been part of Bollywood, but sometimes after the initial hoopla, nothing concrete happens. We look at some movies that were announced on a grand scale and have turned out to be damp squibs.

Raabta:

The Homi Adajania and Dinesh Vijan film was supposed to star Sushant Singh Rajput and Alia Bhatt. Until Alia decided to up and walk out of the film, just like that. Apparently, the Highway star gave precedence to mentor Karan Johar's Shuddhi over Raabta. Things got bitter between Alia and Sushant, and it led to this cryptic

The Fault In our Stars remake (untitled):

Another Homi Adajana film that has bitten the dust. Buzz was that Varun Dhawan and Deepika Padukone would portray the main leads in the Indian remake of this Hollywood blockbuster. However, Varun has vehemently denied his involvement in the project. Later, Alia Bhatt too was rumoured to have been signed on in this Karan Johar production.

Paani:

Yeah, yeah, we know. This one's been in the cold storage for the longest time.
The movie was announced around 13 years ago, and would be the first time Shekhar would collaborate with Yash Raj Films. Sushant Singh Rajput would play the lead, but reports are now pouring in that the movie might be delayed yet again. Phew!

Mr. India (untitled):

Don't forget Shekhar Kapur's sequel to Mr. India. The sequel became the talk of the town when it was announced that Salman Khan would play the villain. However, nothing much has come of the announcement as yet.

Durga Rani Singh:

Vidya Balan frayed nerves when she refused to work with Sujoy Ghosh in Durga Rani Singh. The actress refused Sujoy's film citing health reasons. The director then approached Kangana Ranaut for the role but that too came to a naught. Poor Sujoy!
