BMC Files A Police Complaint Against Sonu Sood; Actor Says: ‘Appealing Against The BMC's Complaint In The Bombay HC’
Actor Sonu Sood has won millions of hearts for his selfless deeds and humanitarian act when the country was hit by the serious Coronavirus pandemic wave. Due to his unforgettable work, he was even called the messiah for many, however, according to the latest reports, BMC has filed a police complaint against Sonu Sood. As per a tweet published by the news agency, ANI, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has filed a police complaint against Sonu Sood for allegedly converting a six-storey residential building in Juhu into a hotel without BMC's permission.

Reportedly, BMC asked the Juhu police to take cognisance of the offence under the Maharashtra Region and Town Planning (MRTP) Act. However, Sood said that he has taken necessary permission and will be appealing against the BMC’s complaint in the Bombay High Court. The Simmba actor said in a statement to TOI, "I have taken approval for change of use from the BMC. It was subject to the approval of the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority. This permission hasn't come due to Covid-19. There are no irregularities. I always abide by the law.”

“This hotel was used to house Covid-19 warriors during the pandemic. If permissions don't come, I will restore it back to a residential structure. I am appealing against the BMC's complaint in the Bombay HC," he further told.

Meanwhile, Sonu’s book, I Am No Messiah that was released last week by Amazon is being attacked by a section of the social media. But Sonu is unfazed about the same and told SpotboyE.com, “Those are paid trolls. The book is doing phenomenally well.  As for being criticized for calling myself a messiah, I would never dream of extolling myself. In fact, I discourage fans from calling me by such unworthy epithets.” ALSO READ: Man Of The Year 2020: Sonu Sood Heals Hearts Of Wounded Souls Struck By COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis
