Well-known producer Boney Kapoor, who has bankrolled many blockbusters such as Salman Khan starrer ‘Wanted’ and late Sridevi’s ‘Mom’ to name a few, has now turned to explore South Cinema. Boney had recently produced Ajith Kumar’s ‘Valimai’ and the movie has received an overwhelming response at the box office, collecting Rs. 200 crores in just ten days after its worldwide release. Now, in a recent interview Boney has drawn a comparison between Bollywood and South and asserted that South movies are a 'complete package of a family drama.'

While speaking to Firstpost, Boney, on being asked about his views on Hindi films being overshadowed by South, said, that South films are a complete package of a family drama as it comprises romance, action and comedy. Boney Kapoor was quoted as saying, “Today, some of the Mumbai filmmakers serve McDonald's, KFC, pizza where you get only what you order, whereas, the South offers you thali with roti, dal-chawal, sabzi, chicken.” Applauding the work of South filmmakers, he added they are serving a bit of everything in their movies which audience wants, and that makes it the prime reason for the success of films.

He went on and revealed that after the dubbed versions of many South films were sold at a good amount to satellite channels, he decided to produce South movies. He further said that even Bollywood movies are unable to fetch such a large profit than what South dubbed movies are making.

For the uninitiated, 'Valmai' is the second collaboration between Producer Boney Kapoor and South Superstar Ajith Kumar after the success of Nerkonda Paarvai in 2019.
