It’s certainly a big day for Alia Bhatt and the entire team of Brahmastra. The film’s lead actress has finally unveiled a video that's both a birthday gift to herself and a present for fans - the first look of her character Isha from Brahmastra. The recently shared video turns out to be the first footage fans have seen for the long-awaited film.


"Happy birthday to me," wrote Alia Bhatt, "Can't think of a better day and better way for you all to meet Isha." Alia, 29 today, added this shout-out for Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji: "Ayan my wonder boy, I love you." The clip, titled "Happy birthday, Isha," features a montage of Alia Bhatt's moments from the movie. 

With Ranbir’s absence on social media, Ayan Mukerji was the one who posted the clip introducing Alia Bhatt as Isha as he wrote: "Happy birthday, Little One. For all the joy, the pride, the inspiration and the magic that you make me feel...here's something to celebrate you on your special day. Our Isha, the Shakti of Brahmastra, in the first visuals we are releasing from our movie. Love. Light. Fire. Go!"


Speaking of the film, Brahmastra is a mythological trilogy and is subtitled Part One: Shiva - Shiva is played by Alia's real-life boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. 

Brahmastra is touted to be one of the most awaited film of the year. 

She received rave reviews for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi which has made over ₹ 100 crore. Alia also has another big release coming up at the end of this month in the SS Rajamouli-directed RRR, co-starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan.
