Along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, amongst the most gifted film makers of his generation, Viacom18 Motion Pictures has created a beautiful cinematic masterpiece in ‘Padmavati’ that captures Rajput valor, dignity and tradition in all its glory. The film is an eloquent portrayal of a tale that will fill every Indian with pride and showcase our country’s story-telling prowess across the globe. We are a responsible, law-abiding corporate citizen and have the highest respect and regard for the law of the land and all our institutions and statutory bodies including the Central Board of Film Certification. We always have and are committed to continue following the established procedure and convention. We have faith that we will soon obtain the requisite clearances to release the film. We stand firm in our commitment to tell endearing tales that resonate with our audiences the world over as we have in the past with our other projects such as ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Queen’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and many more.’

The film has been falling prey to numerous controversies as the Karni Sena has expressed strict objection to the movie's plot.

Just yesterday, we reported to you that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) sent the film back to the makers due to technical errors, this morning, a new discussion has started around the film.

Reportedly, CBFC has specifically told the filmmakers that they will put the film in the queue when it comes back to them. When a film is sent to CBFC for certification, they generally take 68 days from the time of receiving the application to give the certificate.

"When they (makers) rectify the deficiency, we will again scrutinize it once more and when the turn comes we will examine it (film for certification)," a CBFC personnel told a leading daily.

We also told you how actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi supported Deepika and slammed the Rajput leader who announced a prize money for anyone who beheads Bhansali and Deepika.

Let's see what happens next in this controversy.
