The trailer of Bell Bottom received some rave reviews from the movie buffs but the one thing that highlighted the most was Lara Dutta's dramatic transformation in the trailer. The actor essays the role of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi in the movie and her unrecognisable look completely impressed everyone. As her look became the most talked about topic on social media since the trailer was released, Lara decided to take everyone through her makeup and prosthetic session. But it seems like hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani is not very impressed with her wig and sort of disapproves of it.
Upon repeated requests and demands from the fans, Lara shared behind the scenes what went into getting that perfect look of Indira Gandhi. This has been by far the best transformation in Bollywood that any actor has pulled off! Sharing the glimpse of her transformation, Dutta captioned it as, “Never had I imagined portraying a personality this pivotal & when I saw how this transformation translated on the screen, everything felt surreal & worth it. Can’t wait for y’all to watch my performance in #BellBottom on the big screen in 3D on 19th Aug.”
Earlier, seeing the crazy response from netizens, Lara penned a post on her Instagram where she credited the success of the look to the make-up and prosthetic artist Vikram Gaikwad. An excerpt of her note read, “And I’d also like to thank and give full credit to Vikram Gaikwad and his team for the incredible prosthetics and make up! Can’t wait for you’ll to watch the film in the theatres!! See you there on the 19th of August!!!”
Now, talking about Sapna’s views, she recently shared a tweet, criticising her wig as she said, “Such a bad wig though can see the lining of it. But of course, you wouldn’t as you’re not a hair person. We haven’t come close to mastering hair yet.” While in another tweet she shared a close-up picture of Lara in the get-up and mentioned, “See this white glaring wig line .. natural hairlines are not like this at all”
