CBI Opposes Rhea Chakraborty's FIR Against Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sisters; Says It Is ‘Vitiated And Bad In Law'
An FIR was filed against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters Priyanka and Meetu Singh based on Rhea Chakraborty’s complaint. Now, according to a report in NDTV, the CBI said that the FIR filed against Sushant’s sisters is ‘vitiated and bad in law’, while opposing the FIR in the Bombay High Court. Based on Rhea Chakraborty’s complaint, the Mumbai Police had registered an FIR against Sushant’s sisters and Dr. Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohiya Hospital.

Rhea’s complaint was based on WhatsApp texts between Sushant and his sister Priyanka on June 8, and in her petition, Rhea said that Priyanka had used a fabricated prescription to let Sushant access medicines banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. According to a report in NDTV, CBI said that the FIR that has been lodged by the Mumbai Police against Sushant’s sisters is ‘bad in law’ as the CBI is already probing Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, and that there was no need for Mumbai Police to register a second FIR in this case.

The CBI said that if Mumbai Police or Rhea had some info in connection with the case, they should have shared the info with the CBI instead of registering the second FIR. The CBI also said that the allegations by Rhea Chakraborty against the actor's sisters in the FIR are "presumptive and speculative", and they could have been a part of the ongoing investigation.

The CBI also reportedly said that for a case of abetment to suicide, there has to be an ingredient to instigate someone. There cannot be an offense unless there is clear, direct evidence of instigating or aiding someone to commit suicide.
