Chhapaak: Is Acid-Attack Survivor Laxmi Agarwal Not Happy With The Remuneration Paid To Tell Her Story?

Deepika Padukone is all set to tell a story of an acid attack survivor named Laxmi Agarwal through Chhapaak. Co-starring Vikrant Massey, the film is helmed by Raazi director Meghna Gulzar. A few days back, the makers dropped the trailer and Deepika got applauded by one and all. Chhapaak is slated to release on January 10, setting up a clash with Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. But the latest reports of a fall-out between the heroic acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal and the makers of Chhapaak have been doing the rounds in the news circuit.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, it is being said that acid-attack victim Laxmi Agarwal is not happy with the money she has initially taken to tell her story through Chhapaak. A source close to the makers told the portal, “She has been paid a mere Rs. 13 lakhs for the film rights. Laxmi signed happily. But now she is being advised to ask for more, and rightly so. A few days back, when the trailer of Chhapaak was dropped online, Laxmi had taken to social media to heap praises on the trailer. Posting the trailer, she had written, “#Chhapaak in theaters 10th jan 2020 खुश हुँ क़ि छपाक का आज ट्रेलर रिलीज़ हुआ हैं. लेकिन उससे ज्यादा खुश इस बात को लेकर हुँ कि यह cause अब पूरी दुनिया के सामने आएगा. लोग समझेंगे की एसिड अटैक होने से पहले, होने के समय और होने के बाद क्या होता हैं. मेरी कहानी और इस cause को दुनिया के सामने लाने के लिए @meghnagulzar जी और @deepikapadukone जी का दिल से शुक्रिया. ये फ़िल्म सिर्फ एक फ़िल्म नहीं हैं. यह एक आइना हैं जो पुरे समाज को समाज की मानसिकता से रूबरू करवाएगा .... @meghnagulzar @deepikapadukone @vikrantmassey87 @foxstarhindi”
