Cine Workers' Strike Called Off
SpotboyE had yesterday told you about the strike announced by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) threatening to bring Bollywood and television industry to a standstill. (Will Bollywood And Television Industry Come To A Halt?)

Well, the good news is, it has been called off on the condition that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed on mutually acceptable terms on October 14.

"This is to inform all members that the strike has been called off on the written assurance of producers and broadcasters that the Mou will be signed by October 14th 2015 on mutual terms and conditions," Dilip Pithva, FWICE's general secretary said in an official statement.

Though the strike looked like a failure when it began early yesterday, more and more people started joining it as the day progressed. It saw all the 23 unions that function under the FWICE rallying against producers.

These include the Indian Film & Television Directors' Association (IFTDA), Association of Film & TV Editors, Cine Costume & Make-Up Artist and Hair Dresser Association and Film Writers' Association.
